Foodservice Tour hosted by The Food Line Up

Sample the delights of Amsterdam’s leading eateries on the APS17 Foodservice Tour!

Following the hugely successful Foodservice Tour at our sister-show in London, we are excited to announce the first Amsterdam Produce Show and Conference (APS) Foodservice Tour.

Maartje Nelissen, Commercial Director at renowned Dutch caterer The Food Line Up, will host participants around selected Amsterdam eateries on the final day of the APS programme on Friday November 17, 2017.

The Food Line Up is hot on the foodservice scene in Amsterdam with their finger firmly on the pulse of new trends and styles. Maartje’s foodservice tour will give participants a fantastic overview of the use of produce throughout the Amsterdam eating-out scene.

The tour will leave the Hilton Apollolaan at 9am by coach and head for breakfast at the now world-famous Avocado Show, a restaurant concept creating visually stunning and tasty signature dishes from sustainable and socially responsible avocados.

Next stop is SLA Ceintuurbaan, a family-owned business, where attendees can sample a menu specialising in raw, organic, seasonal and mostly plant-based dishes.

The tour will drop in next at Marqt Ceintuurbaan, where participants will have the opportunity to take in a supermarket format for the environmentally-conscious shoppper, where sustainability is celebrated and at the forefront of their raison-d’être.

Event Manager, Michel Bruynseels, will meet you at local restaurant Instock to tell you all about how they are working to reduce the local food-wastage problem. You will learn how they are turning food surplus into delicious meals by sourcing unbought unfashionably-imperfect products with ‘beauty errors’ from local supermarkets. Learn how Instock’s chefs incorporate them into delicious meals. Witness their mission for ‘no waste, great taste!’

The final stop on the Foodservice Tour is De Kas, where you can enjoy an optional spot of lunch – if you still have space! The restaurant dates back to 1926 and is set against the backdrop of a greenhouse. The day’s menu is drawn from the nursery’s harvest of the day and topped up by local suppliers. Local produce is king here and a ‘green and clean’ menu is celebrated to bring you authentic ‘New Dutch cuisine’ dishes.

Throughout the morning, your host, Maartje, will introduce you to some of the owners, chefs and key personnel who are helping to shape the Dutch eating-out industry. With plenty of food to eat throughout the tour, taking breakfast before departure is not recommended! You will return to the Hilton apollolaan at approximately 2pm.
